Default prices for an Outlander (Cdn)

Hi, all. I may be purchasing an ATV in the near future and have narrowed my selection to the Outlander (either 330 or 400).

The Bombardier web site has a MSRP for the quads of $8300 and $7800 respectively. A local dealer quoted me a MSRP of $8500 for the 400. I noticed in other posts that people have mentioned dealers quoting them MSRP's for vehicles that differed from the manufacturer. Is this normal? Is the MSRP from the manufacturer standard (like buying a car) or does it change regionally? Some places like the Yukon may charge more because of high shipping costs, but I am a Maritimer, Quebec is next door. Any help would be nice since a solid MSRP will allow me to better negotiate a lower OTD price.

Another question of related interest. Is there a big difference in performance between the 400 and 330? I will be doing mostly trail riding but may have a passenger occassionally. Will I need a 400 to keep up with other riders when I have on the quad?

Thanx.

hi, it is not uncommon for dealers to sell quads for different prices than the msrp. the msrp is just the manufacture "Suggested" price, most dealers sell for more to get more money from the buyer. atleast here in the states they do. as for performance difference, the 400 is going to be more powerfull, and will haul a little more. but the 330 is no sloutch and is still a good trail rider. they both have the same awesome frame and are very sporty for their class. if you plan on carrying a passenger, than id suggest the 400. both quads are nice and fun to ride.
good luck.
