I dont believe the Ds is to much for a beginner. Take your time and get use to the machine. Then when your ready u will have all the machine you will need. If you go and by a 400 you will spend 2000 on a used one and in 6months if not sooner you will want more power and speed. Then you will have to come up with another 4500 or more for a newer faster machine.

 

it is a nice machine, the power issue, is all about the rider you control the throttle go slow until you get ready for more
