Buying a new sport quad next week
I have asked this before on this site but now I am purchasing on th 31st of this month. The 2 in question are the DS650 and Predator.
I've been going over this for a while now. I would get the YFZ if I was doing more of the dunes, but I would probably go to the dunes no more than 2 times a year.
I am leaning towards the DS, becasue it seems it is a better bike, spec for spec, but I am concerned about the extra 60 pounds. I have ridden a Predator twice now, and I like that bike as well. Now that I have ridden more and have a feel for how I like to ride, I like to ride the bike hard. It has to be fast and I hate losing if I do race.
Anyone that knows, Is the DS or Predator faster. I will do the basic mods to whatever bike I get. I will be riding the bike in the desert during the winter and at an elevation of 5500' during the summer. The trails that I will ride in the summer are wide enough for a jeep, but there are some long trails (probably a 2-3 hour ride).
Both bikes are the same price, so what do I do.

One of the guys who rides with us has a DS (as well as a YFZ and 400EX). He rode it yesterday, after being off of it and riding the other bikes for a while. He was commenting on what a TANK the bike is!! Personally, I think there are a bunch of better choices out there.
The new standard for weight is set by the 450's, which come in at 350 lbs. There is no excuse for a manufacturer building a bike that weighs over 400 lbs!!
