Default mojave or blaster

I am considering both of these quads. I am 5'9 200lbs. I will be mostly trail riding. I like the size of these two. Which one is the better all around quad. I am looking for good pull out of corners and a decent suspension. Basically this is my second quad and I want one to learn how to drive well. I like the simplicity of a two stroke but the technology of the 4 stroke and liquid cooling. Later on which one is better modified? I have a tendency to keep things for a long time. I usually modify before moving on. Which one has the most potential? I am currently looking and trying out these two. Any help would be appreciated. Please no bashing, just tell me your experience with the two. Pro and con thanks

Welcome to the forums. I am about the same size as you and have ridden both quads. IMO, the two bikes are apples and oranges. 2 stroke versus 4 strokes. The blaster is torquie and light, it wants to get up and haul a$$, but doesn't handle as well. The mojave, is heavier, so it doesn't accelerate as fast but, I think it handles better. It depends on what type of riding you plan on doiing with it. If it's just drag races and open areas, then I say the blaster might be better. But, if you are into more trail type of riding, then mojave might be the better choice. Between the two, I like my mojave tremendously, It has some mods done to it. I especially like the way it accelarates now that I have put the k&n filter with outerware and stage II kit in it. Before, it just had the supertrapp exhaust on it, man did it wake up with the k&n and rejet. It still might not accelerate as fast as the blaster, but, overall I like it for riding better. JMHO Dan

I asked the wife what her opinion was on the matter and she agreed with my assessment

I can help u w this dilemna as I went thru it 2 years ago as well.At the time I finally decided the MO over the blaster as for the price the mo had disc brakes all around an the magic reverse for 1000 more it was worth it.I then had a chance to rde both bikes in the snow, buddies blaster kept getting stuck an as ya modulated the throttle it just spun an made matters worse wher eya could get some hook up w the 4 stroker.I like it better since I have a big gun exhaust an kn airfilter an dyno jet kit, wish it had a lil more top end speed but for some reason I dont think its all that slower then a blaster.I ride trails w it if I raced I might take the blaster 4 the mx course tho.a few times I went to jump the mo an let off the throttle an almsot wrecked the the gryo force brought the nose down doh.Only things I dont like bout mo is the headlight blows an the kickstart blows some times bike flames out an im kicking an nearly hyperventilating in my helmet,a lil choke seems to help it start tho or when the kick blows thru the stroke owwwwwwww.theres also the 300 ex w e start, the lakota w e start an 5spd semi speed auto tranny ,the z 250 an ex 250 all these other bkes are e start an shaft drive except the lakota an 300 ex.

Hey, Save yourself some time and money and look for a used 400ex. With your size and weight you will be sorry with the ones you mentioned. The honda is very reliable and very easy to ride. And especialy now that the 450s are out and the Z/KFX pretty much romp the crap out of the EX you could find a good one cheap. Think about it. I made the mistake of buying a mojave I had it one month, Took a freinds EX for a ride and that day the Mo was on the truck and traded for the KFX400. But thats me, now I cant wait for the Z/KFX450. Good Luck!!!!!!

Default mojave or blaster

Well I went and bought a 02 Blaster for $1800. It needs a rear brake cable and it is ready to ride. I was also looking at an 02 Mojave for the same price but did not like it. I test drove both, the blaster put a grin on my face. The Mo had a vibration through the footpegs and the owner said he has never changed the oil. Still had gas from last year in it. Both were in great shape. I had a bad feeling about the Mo, lack of maintenance. To me the blaster was more fun. I plan on modding this after a while. I like the fact that their are companies like Trenga Racing that specailize in the blaster.

My sleds are a 97 mxz 670 and a 99 mxzx 440 race sled. The 97 is highly modified and the 99 is all stock except for usi skis. My father also has an 02 legend 500, 90 safari and a 89 safari that needs a hood or needs the original hood fixed. I went out for the last time this past weekend, was getting sick of the long drive up north. How is the riding up there. I want to go up their next winter.

The blaster also has boysen reeds. Thanks for everyones help

i would go with the mojave there nice for trail riding mi neighbor has one and he likes it as much as the lt 500 he soldand it gets out of places weir the blaster would get stuck
belive mi my friend has one and he says it meds more torque and a little biger it is to small

im 13and 5'10" and it is way to small for mi and mi neighbor mojave is much better ride and every think like that, mud the blaster sucks in the mojave gos therw it great

take a look at the suzuki ozark thas wat mi father has and i ride it and i can get therw many other paces than
most bikes cant get and its vary powerful. i get therw mud up tho the foot pegs and thet is like 5 in off the gound and thats around the yard for me.
