O.K....So my wife is tired of riding her Kawasaki 300 Prairie 4x4 and trying to keep up with me on the Raptor....Now everytime we go riding she wants to ride the Raptor and I'm stuck on the 300... I told her I would buy her a Raptor but she said it's just a bit big for her... She said she wanted a 400 but which bike is better for the money and overall ride and reliability.Please guide me. I suggested a Warrior or the new Raptor 350 but water cooled is a must for us cause we ride in the hot Arizona sun alot and we ride Hard....[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]

 

The Z 400 has many upgrades on the platform that pretty much make it a next generation above the EX. Nothing against the EX, it's a great machine w/ many aftermarket parts. Just like comparing the Raptor to the YFZ. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] They're all good, go see which one fits the best.

 

she might like the z better because it has reverse and the 400ex doesn't. But the z is definately faster i beat a piped 400ex up sand mtn on my stock z400

 

isn't the EX air-cooled?

 

I'm not much of Honda eficianado( it think thats speeled right) of Honda's ...I don't know if they are air or liquid cooled.Also is there much difference between the Suzuki 400 and the Kawasaki 400???

 

The Kawasaki and suzuki are exactly the same. and yes, the 400 ex is air cooled. so i would suggest the suzuki (or kawasaki depending on what color is favored) 400 over the ex for your type of riding.

She is leaning more to the Suzuki side ....after checking out the specs on the dyno she noticed that the Z put out 2 more horses than the ex....Thats probably not a whole lot but add that to the liquid cooling and the sleeker style,I think thats what she wants more.... Me, I don't care what she gets as long as she quits riding my Raptor. Look at my pics and see how she treats my baby . It makes me cry.

 

I would go with the Z the EX is really outdated and needs to be upgraded. but they have stood the test of time so they cant be that bad. they are both pretty good quads. see which one she likes the best. but if she wants a better chance to keep up the Z is definatly the best choice

 

You can choose from KFX400 Kaw, Z400 Suz, DVX400 A/C. All are the same bike except for plastic, seat, reverse **** location. Pick which one looks best to you and which dealer will be there for you when you need them( if you ride long enough you will need them ).
