For the king of riding you are talking about I would suggest the Suzuki Quad sport. You can find the early model 230s for less than $1500 in good shape and the later models 250s for less than $1800. I have bought 3 in the last 7 years just as secondary bikes for sport riding. They have disc breaks and a reliable 4-stroke motor, and they have reverse. They are excellent jumpers and the ones I have had will hang close to a 300ex. I have never had any serious problems with one and the last one I bought six months ago for $700. I cleaned the carb, rode it for 3 months and sold it for $950. I have owned over 40 quads and have never been disappointed with a suzuki, (even though I have owned more Hondas) I now ride a 2000SP500 and love it.

Anyway, I suggest the Suzuki becasue of the price range and reliability and performance. Hope I have helped.

Greg
