350 Warrior vs. 350 Raptor
#12
The raptor 350 is a dressed up warrior. The improvements are barely more than cosmetic or fundamental. Base engine, frame, etc are all the same. And yes, it is a four stroke, like every warrior before it.

i see you guys going on and on about warriors, but i have never rode one. I do ,however, own an '04 raptor 350. this thing kicks ***!!! close to 80 on the street-staight-away (paced by my wife in my truck) what i know about the upgrades. same basic engin and frame, with a few mods to accomidate the raptor fenders. a new carb for better fuel economy, and a new pipe. i think it is the same trany, but don't quote me on that. the suspension is deffinatly new like the 660 raptor. new lights preditor style. and new rear swing arm, and low profile grib tires, not those ballon type.
all in all they made look like the 660 from far away. put a couple of better stock parts and BAM!!!! raptor 350. bye bye warrior.
i dragged a 660 with mods (pipe, total excaust, air filter and filtered box cover, stage 2 jetting, and 2 extra spokes on rear sproket) in the 1/4 mile and he only beat me by 75 ft!!!!! AND MINE IS COMPLETLY STOCK!!!!!
teh 350 is an excelent buy. $5,000. i have jumped it about 30ft max so far. great on mx tracks i keep up with the bikes easily. great on trails corners like its on rails, and jumps out the corners like you wouldn't belive. i don't know is i will ever modify it. seeing as how i am riding right now. untill somebody comes up to durham town and runs me off the road, my raptor stays stock. i love answering that famous question: what mods have you done?

by the way all the stuff above was found on the internet by searching 2004 yamaha raptor 350, even found this page in the search.
any durham town riders need a riding partner? i ride alone at the moment.

Go with a 04 400EX it's better all around and you can get a 350 Raptor for around 5k and my 04 400EX was $4,799 out the door! Compare that lol

80mph on a Raptor 350 stock? I have nothing to back this up but it sounds a bit high to me. That would make it faster than a 660 raptor and DS650...
Anyway, from what I've read in the mag's the Raptor is a big improvement from the Warrior. Better seating position, more power down low in the rev range (they changed the carb. and exhaust) and better handling thanks to the better tires. I'm waiting to see how it compares to the 300ex. It should give it a run for it's money...
There was nothing really wrong with the Warrior. It was designed in the mid 80's so it's a dated design. Basically the same problem the Banshee has had forever. Yamaha, until recently, hasnt been one to update their machines much. Not like you can blame them. There wasn't a whole lot of competition till recently.

The warriot does like 60 stock and the raptor does 80? Same motor? Boy they must have really streamlined those new plastics.

the raptor 350 will do about 65 stock
the engines are different... the raptor 350 is more compact and made of a lighter metal
the only reason you would want a raptor 350 over a warrior is if youre not ineterested in the price for what you plan on doing with the quad. if you just want to tinker around the woods, go with the warrior but if youre lookin to do anything else, go with the raptor.
good luck
