Automatic or Not

just as a question..... you said that you were looking to spend less than $6k on a bike, so when you went and looked at Honda's you rode the Rancher. My question is this...How much are the 450es's at that shop, I know I got my 99' for $5800 out the door last year, and right now I know where I could get one (00')for a bit less. I know you said that IF you didn't get a auto this is the bike you wanted. If they are asking more than that I would check around, when I first started looking the cheapest I could find was $6499+.
I just went to the yamaha shop and was really suprised at what I seen in the shop there. (Now don't yell, this is only my observation) It was full of Grizzly's. Out of the 11 machines they had in there 8 of them were Grizzly's ( but hey who knows.... maybe the were running a special on servicing them
)
The most important than to remember when buying a new machine is to find something that YOU like, every brand of machines has there trying moments, and some have made major leaps and bounds in improving the overall realibility of there machines
just my two cents, I hpoe you have a GREAT experience with whatever you decide.

Prices have all been about the same for the big bores. ES $6299, Sportsman $6300, Quadmaster & Cat $6297, the Kodiak was the only one that came in under $6k at $5900.
The only thing that turns me off about the ES is the one front wheel spinning in the air deal. I've seen my brother-in-laws do it more than once. My brother-in-law loves his ES though. Iit's a solid, reliable quad, he does which he had an auto though.
Think the Rubicon will be worth the wait?

Polaris did have their share of problems on their earlier yr quads.The new ones are pretty dependable though,except mine.I have a 99 500cc Sportsman that has been in the shop as much as it's been on the trail.I also have friends that have had no problems with their Sportsmans.I really got a bad one.I just got it out last wk from the dealership.They rebuilt the engine.So far,im really pretty happy with the re-build.The Sportsman will give you the plushest ride of all the large 4x4s.It has more options than the others to.This is my first auto trans.I dont think I'll be ever going back to shifting again.The most important thing when selecting a quad is SERVICE.All of todays quads are pretty reliable.Make sure the service department is good.You can own the baddest quad in the world.That dont mean jack if you cant get it serviced quickly and dependably.
