i had a bayou...it doesnt hold up very well...i might of ridden it a bit hard...but its not a very good trail quad if u do fast stuff or any little jumps..brakes also go after a little bit...im pretty sure it was just the brakelines though...ummive heard the ozark and the recon are at the top of the 250 utility class...if i were you id look into them more

dont even consider the bayou not that its bad but it cant compare to the recon or ozark in handling or the suspension department its more of a utility.the ozark is the most sporty of the three has the most speed and the better suspension.my opinion the ozark is your best choice.the recon is a very close second choice.its a very small step below the ozark .the recon is a good choice too.the bayou isnt as good as these bikes but great for mellow trail rides and great for utility work.good luck

Don't forget the Bruin 250/Beartracker/Timberwolf.

The 250's are all basically made to do the same thing. Some have better towing or rack limits.

I liked that the Recon was reliable, motor turned to transfer more power to the wheels, enclosed drive shaft, double a-arms, and whatever else. The Recon was light enough to jump over logs and short enough to drive under gates and downed trees. It is narrow enough to drive around obstacles.

The Recon has a new image for 2005. Looks a little more sporty.

Really any of these machines would probably do well. Except for the Bayou. j/k

I own both a Recon and an Ozark. (My sons ride them) Pros and cons...

Ozark - better looks, sportier handling and a better ride over rough terrain. The gear shifter can be a little stiff, but works well. con - it has given us a little trouble by fouling plugs.

Recon - best thing is the electric shift about this 4 wheeler, also the reliability is great. no fouled plugs or problems of any kind. cons - it has much more vibration than the Ozark and rides rougher.

overall, I just slightly prefer the Ozark, it is more comfortable and more fun to ride. Both of them are super machines, go ride each of them before you decide...
