Pep Boys Special?

whats every ones opinion on the extremely affordable APC COMMANDO 250. All I need it for it lite trail riding, and general romping through the forest. Does anyone currently own one? has anyone had one in the past?
Thanks.

Trust me it is worth buying a name brand quad just for the availability of parts. On the less known quads the parts are sometimes outragously high. So check the prices and availability of parts to see whether the cheaper M.S.R.P. is really worth it in the long run.

Parts are nearly impossible to get, and some dealers refuse to work on anything purchased from Pep Boys.
If price is a concern, you may want to check into a Jianshe Mtn. Lion 250. A friend of mine bought one this spring, and he loves it. I guess Jianshe has a partnership with Yamaha, so the Mtn. Lion is a clone of a Yamaha Bear Tracker. It's so similar that accessories for the Bear Tracker fit the Mtn. Lion. And he hasn't had any problems getting parts.

I will give you my friends email to speak with him. He bought one of them bikes for his son. What a deal $600.00 dollars Right ?
He went riding with me and my son the first day. Exhaust came loose and fell off, 3 or 4 bolts on the bike fell off and the worst of all the rear foot break broke off. Now he needs to get it welded. Take it from me buy a name brand. It might cost you $500.00 to $1,500.00 more. But, would you rather have a bike that in a couple months is ready for the trash or a bike you can let your kid grow out of and then sell to help pay for a new one. Good Luck and Happy Trails, D

I own one, and parts are WAY cheaper than the big guys parts. I needed a shock for my bike, $16. I looked at a new engine to fiddle with and mod: $218. Carb: $27. All parts recieved within 2 weeks of ordering, and most within a week.
The evidence does not back your claim. Perhaps you are repeating something someone else told you, without direct knowledge of your own? I find this to be the case in most of these comments.

In my case, parts are as cheap or cheaper too. Not that I needed anything but I went through the company's parts pricing list out of curiousity. I've heard horror stories about no-names, but the only way I can repond is that I've had pretty good luck with mine and I've spent a heck of a lot less money on it. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat! Had to tighten a few bolts and align the front end. And that's only because it was mailorder. Usually a good dealer will do that for you. To me, it was worth the $1,000 I saved. Maybe some people feel different.
