Would someone please reccommend a 50cc quad for a 6 year old? I'm really like the 90cc Honda but I feel that's too large for my boys.
I saw some make? I don't know what it was at my local Honda dealer. I think it's a fairly new company. I think it was either chinese or koren made. Any thoughts on these. Plus of minuses. Thanks

We got a E-Ton 90 for our 7 year old girl. The 50cc E-Tons were tiny! Would have outgrown that is a year.
Haven't had any problems with the E-Ton, great beginner quad, electric start, automatic shift.
(Won't quite keep up my DS though...)

While a 90cc IS a little large for a 6 year old, it's amazing how fast they can grow into one. We started with a LT50 for my oldest son (at 6). Did OK for first year then he outgrew it. Now he's 8 and rides a Honda 90. His younger brother (7) rides too, but needs more practice before he can go on the trails. Littlest brother (now 3) will start on the 90 when he's 6 or so. There's a throttle limiter plus a rubber cap to go over the air intake. Either one will cut the power all the way down to a stall on any slope. If they can reach the brakes they can ride at a safe controlable speed. We got rid of the 50 - I think a governed 90 is a better, safer training bike.

Thanks for the Ideas. I think I will go for the 90cc. I will probably go with the Honda since I want my kids to learn how to shift at an early age. Plus I hate to maintain 2-stokes.
Although the E-ton looks to be a fine machine and cheap too.

We started our son out with a Honda TRX90. He was 11 at the time. (It has been sold and bought him a blaster)
The Honda 90 is larger than the E-Ton 90. And a lot faster. Both have the throttle limiter screw so you can slow them down.
One problem with the Honda TRX90 we had, bought it brand new, first ride out, engine thru the rod, doing all kinds of internal damage. It was repaired under warrenty (not a new engine).
Just saying that Honda is not necessarly any better than the other manufactures, they all can have problems. It just kind of stunk to give him the atv for christmas and get to ride it for about 30 minutes and then have to wait three months to get it repaired.

I HIGHLY suggest you take a look at the suzuki LT80. the bikes have good suspension, electric start (can be fitted with headlight), foot brake (like a real bike), and they are bullet proof.
I can tell you from experience, kids don't shift worth a hoot. My kids both started on a TRX70. The 70 is a great starter bike, but the kids would not shift it at the appropriate times, and could not trail ride with it faster than 1st gear.
My 2 oldest sons started riding @ 3 yrs old, and they both ride LT80's now. They are 5 & 4 now. They handle fairly technical terrain on the LT80 with ease. We trail ride often.
when your kid needs more speed, the LT can be fitted with plenty of aftermarket parts.
I promise you that you WILL get sick of having to yank on that Honda pull cord everytime your kid decides to shut his bike off to "talk" to you on the trail.
