I'm looking to buy my first ATV, mainly for riding around in the woods, playing in a little mud, etc. My brother-in-law owns a Honda and tells me to stick with the Honda brand. He owns an 03 Foreman 350 4x4 and loves it. The thing's slow as dirt but it can get through anything. I respect his opinion and I too am familiar with Honda's reputation. BUT, the price tags are scary, even for a decent used machine. A buddy of mine has a well kept 2003 Polaris 330 Magnum 2x4. He wants at least $2500 for it. I'm a little skeptical...Will it do what I want it to do? Is $2500 a right price? Will I possibly be able to get my money back out of it in a few years? I want to make a good investment. Any tips on this machine or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

Few questions for ya. What do you want the quad to do?? Why is the guy getting rid of it? I'am skeptical of polaris, but thats my opinion. Dont rush into it, look around a lil more. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

I want it for riding around the woods, playing in a little bit of mud, and riding around on my in-laws property. That's pretty much it...

 

I'am sure the quad will do all you want it to. I personally got nickel and dimed to death with the polaris I owned, until I gave up on it and bought new. It was an older model and I really dont know to much about the newer models. Of all the major manufactuers I like Polaris the least, sorry just my opinion. If I were you I would look around a little bit more, preferably for a Yamaha or Honda in the same price range. Again this is just my opinion with what I have expierenced. Others may feel differently.

 

I appreciate the advice. Friends of mine have said the same thing. I want a four wheeler so bad...guess I'm getting impatient. I wish I could find a good used Honda around my area for a reasonable price. Thanks again.

 

I was in the same shoes at one time. I wanted one so bad that I could hardly stand it. So I got one by trading a car to my parents and some cash for that Polaris. It was great at first, but then problems came and kept coming, so I got rid of it and got sumpin else. If I had just waited a little bit and looked around I would have been better off in the long run. I would just hate to see some one else rush into it and end up it not being what they realy want, or have problems and not get to ride they investment. Have you looked in local news papers, cycle trader.com has a ATV section.
