I am looking to purchase a new atv soon, i have thought of either a honda foreman, or polaris sportsman 500 or scrambler 500
I am leaning more towards the polaris machines, give me some opinions on these
thanks

More information is needed to answer your question -
1) what interested you in ATV riding
2) how do you plan to use the ATV - ie work, farm, trail, hunting
3) will you be riding with passengers?
4) how old are you?
5) What expereince do YOU have with ATV or off road riding
6) have you looked at all the brands - what do you like or dislike?
There are many opinions regarding brand names - but for good feedback on a quad it needs to be based on what the rider expectations are. Its a lot like dating - there are expectations - and there is hope. Knowing the difference can add to or substract from the expereince.

why are you leaning towards the polaris's? just wondering, i've got nothing agaisnt them. but if your still looking at the foreman i would suggest the rubicon instead...the transmission is supposed t be the best on the market...just a few more options than the foreman has.

I am 23 and ride mostly trails with lots of mud, once in awhile i ride with a second person, most of the time its just me
riding experience is a couple of years, i previously rode a yamaha grizzly 660, but i dont' need anything that big
I was leaning towards polaris becuase thats what i ride in the winter, and the polaris dealer here has given me great service and i've always been happy with thier products

I'm just curious... when you reply to messages, do you just copy and paste the same line into each reply? Manuals are not the thing to have for novice riders. If it's your thing then that's great but they don't suit the needs of every reader in here.

Friends of mine have had Polaris quads for many years and they've been excellent, reliable low maintenance machines. They currently have a Sportsman 500 HO (not sure what year) and a 700 Twin I've had the pleasure of riding them on many occasions. I just recently got a Trail Boss 330 myself and I absolutely love it - though I haven't really had the chance to ride it much yet.
