I am pretty sure that they don't make helmets for critters. And there probably is a good reason for that: DON'T BRING YOUR DOG WITH YOU! Not only is it extremely dangerous for your dog (flying off into a tree, running it over?), but you will also endanger yourself and those around you if you can't hold on properly.

I have rigged up a carrier for my puppy from a Baby carrier. He stays put in that and is attached to my chest. My hands are free to steer and do what ever with out the worry of him trying to get loose!.He loves riding also and Iam not out to break speed records.

Two things: One, I still don't think that it's a good idea. What if you were to get stuck in the mud, and you had to get off to try and get unstuck, are you going to tie him to a tree? Even though you're not out to break any speed records, any number of things could go wrong and you could seriously harm your puppy in the meantime. Two, if you are comfortable with him being strapped to your chest while riding and don't believe that is dangerous, why do you even need a helmet? Again, I am pretty sure that they don't make helmets for dogs, I don't think your puppy would much appreciate wearing one either.

Someone with enough fortitude to think there is a market out there for the doggy generation

I think it's a smart way to keep peta on your butt, too

And Snowbabe, Welcome to the forum

Welcome to the forum snowbabe.
Does any one here remember that guy in the 70's that rode desert races on a m/c with his dog on the gas tank? If I remember right, he was featured in the original "On Any Sunday" movie. He would put a piece of carpet on the tank and the dog would hold on for dear life. I dont think the dog had a helmet on. Not sure if peta was around then.

Aint nothin wrong with your dog goin for a ride if it enjoys it. All our dogs beg to go for quad rides. I know an old guy that put a 2x4 border as to make a lil box on his front rack and he carpeted it. he rides everywhere with his lil pomeranian. its pretty funny when ya see him out on the trails. dogs just happy as can be. the ol guy rides a polaris 500 to boot His doggy dont have a helmet.
