Default Need advice

Hey guys, I've been lurking these forums for awhile now, but just now saw a need to post. A little bit about myself...I'm 20 years old and live in Tennessee. I've had a Honda Fourtrax 400 to ride around the farm and trails since I was 15. That's really all I've ever rode until my brother comes over a last weekend with a Honda 400ex. After riding it all day I fell in love and decided I needed a something like it. I've been looking through the locals ads here and this one caught my eye, simply because I'm not ready to shell out $4000-$5000 for a sport quad until I get more experience on one.

I don't know alot about the aftermarket for sport quads or even the value of something like the one in the ad. I've heard nothing but good things about Warriors. I'm going to look at it face to face this weekend. Based on the experience of the people on this forum do you think its a good deal?...should I try to talk him down?.....or just forget about it alltogether? Thanks guys.

I never miss a chance to steer someone away from the Warrior. First off, I rode one for years, and thought it was OK until the 400EX came out and I realized how poor the Warrior really is! The Warrior is from another era. It's old school. There are way better machines out there these days.

If you are on a budget, something like a used 400EX would be a good place to start.

Thanks for the reply reconranger. Orginally I was looking at a 400ex BUT the one thing that turned me off to them was not having a reverse until the 05 model. There's no way I'm gonna shell out the money for an 05 just because it has reverse. Some of the trails I ride around here....you almost have to have a reverse.

I would check on Craigslist to see if you can find anything. Over here, it's a big thing... like ebay without the fees. I just checked on Memphis for you and didn't see much listed.

Also, just because the Warrior has been around a while doesn't mean it's bad. I think the optimum machine for you would be a used Z400. They are hard to find though.
