Prairie 700 and Suz Twin Peaks the same?
#1
I just bought a KFX400 and after two rides am probably selling to get a utility quad.
I was looking at the Vinson and the P700, and now it appears that the Twin Peaks is the same as the Prairie.
I know Kawi and Suzuki are in a joint venture on some of their offroad machines - and it looks like this may be another one.
These two quads are priced the same, and the Suzuki Twin Peaks web page says it has a locking front diff and sealed rear disc just like the Prairie.
I don't really want a 700 class quad, and the Vinson seems to be the favorite in the 500 class - but I might as well consider the big bores with locking diff for a few extra $$.
I like the solid axles, so not loking at the BF and Griz.
Thanks,
Rick

They are exactly the same - Kawi Prairie 700 is the original - Suzuki just gives it different colors. I'm pretty sure that Suzuki is no longer selling the Twin Peaks for the '06 model year, now that they have their own 700 in the KQ.
If you are looking for great features and great price, consider the Kawi Brute Force 650. It's basically the Prairie 650 (SRA) with new style plastic. It has all the features of the P700 with the original Prairie 650 V-twin engine. Priced the same (or less) than the Vinson.

Toyeboy,
I don't dislike my KFX. In fact, I love it. It's an awesome quad - but after the two rides I've done, I realize I like riding the technical stuff better - water, mud, rocky hills. A ute quad is better suited for my needs. I also like the better mud coverage of a ute. I found that out fitst hand when riding with my meighbor the other day. He was on his BF750, and I was on my KFX. We had a very short time in some mud. I got slinged up pretty good, and he had barely any on him.
I just made a mistake and purchased the wrong type of quad. Expensive lesson.
