Engine displacement for logging roads?

You do realize that once you get a quad, and see what they can do and how much fun they are, you may be riding that as much as the Mt. bike? Since I have gotten back into quads, my Mt. bike mostly gets used for leisurely rides with the wife/kids around town now I also think a 250 ute is the way to go, but you might be able to find an older 300-400cc 4x4 in decent shape. One model that would be a good fit for what you want is the mid '80's Honda fourtrax 250. The suspension and brakes leave a bit to be desired, but the quads are rock solid reliable. While they don't have a low range or 4x, they did come with a granny 1st gear that will allow you to crawl through the rough areas. They are getting harder to find, but a pristine one would be way less than 2k.
