Default Buying new ATV

Well, I havent rode in over 4 years now. I had a 2001 Banshee back in the day. Owned and rode it for about a year and had to sell it due to new house
I am now doing much better and looking into getting a new quad and WOW, so many new quads are out these days!! I don't know what to choose.

I ride mainly fast trails, hill climbs, that is what I enjoy doing. Never did much jumping or anything, and now at age 26 I don't really need any broken bones

I looked over the following quads so far:
Raptor 700R
YFZ450
TRX450R
Banshee (might just get one again since I previously owned one)
and the upcoming LTR450 from Suzuki

Been trying to find shootouts on the 700R but came up empty so far. Just curious how its powerband is throughout the gears. I am also looking for REVERSE on a quad and so far the Raptor is the only one that has it, unless I went for a 400EX but really don't want one of those.

So, any links to shootouts or user reviews will be helpfull, especially on the 700R

Thanks

if ur interested in a 700.... try the 660 raptor, since its almost the same (not really but its the closest thing u could get to the 700r), but u could find them for cheap now. good luck!

I'm not really worried about the price, also I read that the 700R uses the 450's frame which I like. I believe the width is 3 inches? wider than the 660 correct?

Sounds like the 700R is ideal for you. Either of the 450's will suffice also, but no reverse. Banshees are a sweet ride, but you get such a better chassis and suspension when starting out with a more modern quad that you really need to be in love with that 2-stroke hit and that twin cylinder scream. Good luck in your shopping.

No thanks.

I'm going to have to go out and test ride the 700R.

Went and looked at a 700R today, was a bit cold to test ride it though. Most likely going to get that one when I am ready.

Thanks for the replies.
