250ex is better, it will give you a general lesson on how to use a clutch, and also you wont get tired of it as fast. Another plus is that the 250ex is a 4 stroke and the trailblazer I think is a 2 stroke, the trailblazer will cost more to maintain in the long run plus the gallons of 2 stroke oil are expensive. Also, with the honda there is more perfomance mods available should you ever wanna make it go faster. IMO the 250ex is the better deal.

there is only a clutch ont he new trx models.. 06 and up
i woudl recomend the 250ex.. its a buletproof machine, and engine.. snow its fine, trails its fine.. and a wheelie machine.. haha
you shoudl be fine going anywhere with it..
prefict for your size now and you will be able to ride it in 4 years.. even if you are 5'11.. i ride a rancher 350 and i am 5'8... and i've ridden 250s multiple times.. especially the 250ex and recon.. they are basically the same evcept racks.. i would rather the 250ex anyday as the recon is not a "real ute"
good luck with getting your next bike
oh also, ive been able to hit top speed on the 250ex and it should be fast enough for what you want.. fast enough to make your eyes get a little wet with no goggles.. haha
