In that price range and size, have you considered a Sportsman? Here is a link to a review of all three by a reputable magazine...

http://www.polarisindustries.com/pro...SPORTSMAN500HO

When you are at the site, click where it says;
"Automatic 500cc 4x4 Shootout"

Also, what about others, such as the AC 500, Bombardier Traxter, or Yamaha Grizzly? All fine machines for your price range... I would recommend riding them all. Also, give some real thought as to how you will use (or abuse ) your machine... each excels at something different and they all have their own weaknesses.

GOOD LUCK!

If those were my only two choices then go with the Rubicon.

Polaris dealers seems to be eager to discount there prices when buying a quad.

I have purchased 2 Hondas & 1 Eton from my Honda dealer. My dealer quoted me MSRP + setup + freight + tax for a new Rubicon. After purchasing 3 quads I figured he would give me a price break, NOPE!

My next quad will probably be a Kawasaki, Polaris or Arctic Cat. I believe each company delivers a product close to the quality of Honda, with more bells & whistles at a lesser price.

Just my 2 cents worth.

I have been riding Suzuki for about 12 years the last one being a '99 QuadRunner until 6 weeks ago.
A friend of mine bought a Rubicon and let me ride it and after about 45 minutes of riding I decided it was time to change brands. So I sold the QuadRunner and bought a Rubicon. The ride, handling and stability are far superior with the Rubicon. After I bought my Rubicon I let a friend of mine ride it. (He was riding a '99 Griz.) He sold his Griz. and bought a Rubicon. They are a real nice machine

I have had a honda since 1986 (86 350 four trax 4x4) the machine handles like a pack mule. But it has been a reliable machine and has never left me stranded. I have never done anything other than tires oil and regular up keep stuff. All though its recent dimise by coming off a trailer at 65 mph and hitting a concret wall destroyed the drivability it still cranked right up on the first hit. So reliablity goes to honda.
