Hey, i want to get a sporty trail quad. My price range is around 2000. What do you guys suggest i buy? Thanks.

 

I dont know of anything for 2000 bucks new, but if you look used, i would look at Honda for reliability, because for 2,000 bucks anything else wouldnt have me very confident at all. You might have to spend a little more money then that to have something that will last.

 

yea definitly used, like an old 400ex or warrior, nothing big like a YFZ or 450r

 

I'd get a used Warrior 350 or 400ex.

 

My brother bought an 01 400 ex for $1800. But you'd be better off saving another $1000 or so and get an 04 or later z400. You'll love the reverse in the trails, well you'll just love the quad period.

 

Did the 03/04 Z's have probs with corrosion? Not to be a machine basher or anything but just a thought.

 

Noe, 03 and 04 have aluminum covers. 03's had problems with frames cracking when ridden hard. Extra gussetting solved this for 04 and later. In 05 they got a bigger carb, different cam, extra clutch plate, and better suspension. Adjustable preload, rebound, and compression with rezis all the way around.
