I sold my 250x and im looking to get a 400ex or a z400 or something. I need more power plus Im too big for the 250x. I found a 2003 predator in my area going for 3300 I think, how are those?

Im really leaning towards getting a 400ex though. Does anyone know how much they usually go for?

 

Should be a good selection of 400ex's in that price range. Beware the 03 preds, they have had some problems. Also stay away from any 01 raptor 660's. Probably not many z400's there, and if they are that cheap there is likely something wrong with it.

There are also some banshees in that price range in good shape, not sure if you want a two stroke though.

 

i dont want a banshee unless its in good condition and already piped. I would only get one if it was that becasue they are obviously expensive becaseu its pretty much double everything.

Anyway I was at Stone's the other day buying a used XR70 and noticed an 04 400ex in the back for around 3000. It may have been 3300 though.

Used 400ex is your best option for that price. Those Hondas are tanks and there's so many of them that they can be had cheaply.

 

You can definately find a 400EX for that. There are a few 250R's around for less than 3K also. I just looked at one in Spencerport last week that was decent. Preds and Zs can also be had in that price range. Both 03 models of these had some issues, the Zs are easily fixable with a little $$, the Preds are not. That wouldn't make me necessarily shy away from either, but I would be looking for a deal on one.

actually, HPD does (or at least did) have a kit to update the '03 pred's tranny if your has issues... but to be honest, just like the '01 raptor issues, i think those were more isolated incedents than anything else as i ride w/ one and have talked to many and no one has had these problems... I dunno if such a kit exists for '01 raptors or not tho...

 

I bought the 400ex at stones, I put a down payment on it and they are holding it until i get my money on May 20th.

 

That should make for a nice little upgrade to the 250X, Long time to wait until May though[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

yeah Im excited but there were some problems i noticed, the handle bars were too low and they shook alot. The throttle also had like a couple cms or 1/2 inch that seemed to be loose, what do you do about that or is it common? The start button was also missing so I gotta get one of those control things off of ebay.

It has nerf bars and a cut fenders and its mostly stock and in real good condition i guess. If you guys know what to do about the throttle problem if it is one, please explain it.
