Default Next Quad

I have a 1996 yamaha warrior and its starting to lag behind in the trails. I ride with a banshee, quadzillam, 3 400exs, a 220 blaster thats very fast, and some utilitys. I smoke the untilities and stay even with the blaster but the 400exs are ahead of me and the shee and quadzilla smoke me. I need something bigger and faster but im havin a mental block of wat quads r out there that arent like 5 grand used. so far i thought of

400ex
raptor 660 or 700
z400
ds 650
kfx 400
kfx 700

i am a big kid so i cant have a small quad but i dont want a big bulky thing that wont fit through the trails, any ideas

steve

Id look for a z400/kfx400 if looking used. They are great trail quads and can be made very fast. 400ex's are nice

quads but when I rode my warrior I just never thought they were enough of a upgrade to spend my money on.

Predator would be another good option have a friend with one and it handles good in the woods and is quite a bit

faster than my other buddies 400ex.

The Z400 is the best all-around machine there is. Handles great, high quality, reliable. The motor has huge hop up potential, with just some simple mods.

I choose the 400EX (over the Z or 450R) for riding real tight technical trails, because its engine will lug down and doesn't mind being ridden slowly. Also, handles great, high quality, dead solid reliable!

The Kawi 700 and DS are big and heavy. You don't want to drag around all that needless bulk and weight, unless you are so big you don't fit any of the smaller quads.

Raptor 660 is narrow and the weight is kind of high in the frame, making it a bit tippy.

Raptor 700 is worth a look.

If you want to beat everybody, don't mess around. Just get a 450!
