Default Possilby Looking At A Warrior

I am still in the process of looking at a 4 wheeler and,in the paper, there is a 97 warrior 350 with aftermarket pipe for 1200,do you think this would be a good deal?I mean i am going to go look at it but say it was in good condition all around, good deal?and do they break parts easy,if so are they serious?would this be an okay atv for me,i am about 5' 11' and 220.

I rode a Warrior for years. Worst machine I ever owned. Pass it up and look for a 400EX!

Warriors are good solid and dependable if taken care of. Check it out it is in good shape $1200 doesnt sound bad. Tey are not the fastest but are still good quads. I rode one for a little over a year before buying my 700

While I'd agree the 400's are all around better, the 350 isn't a bad machine. You can have fun on anything. They don't have the power or handling that some others do but they are built solid and make a decent trail quad. $1200 sounds like a dang good price if it's in good shape.

I'm about 200lbs and it carries me fine.

The Warrior certainly is a solid reliable machine, it is just that it doesn't handle as well as the more modern designs. It isn't all that heavy, but it certainly HANDLES heavy. Back in the day, we never minded it because there just weren't that many other quads to choose from (if you wanted a 4-stroke). But by todays standards, it doesn't cut it.

At 220 pounds, the extra power of the EX should come in handy.

recon is right...

The Warrior is dated in the ergonomics department..... If all you're going to do is cruise around the woods or trails and not get too agressive the Warrior will work for you. They seem to be a good quad to learn the finer points of riding, a lot of people I know got started on a Warrior.

I like to equate the Warrior to one of those big beach cruiser bicycles. It's not a BMX or a mountain bike or even a street-racer....but it is cool enough to cruise around town and in the right place you can have a lot of fun....
