Hi, I'm looking for a 4 wheeler that I can use on some trails in the woods and on some fireroads and plow snow. Don't need anything too fast though. I'm 6 foot 4 with some long legs and around 240 pounds. I will also carry my wife on back ( around 150 pounds ) sometimes. Some of my friends say not to get anything bigger then a 400 cc bike if I want to get around in the woods, they say the really big bikes are just too big for this. Any ideas, I'm pretty new to this. I see a nice new Honda Rancher 420, is that too small for the 2 of us ?

I agree with your friends about it being a disadvantage on a large machine when riding tight trails! The 420 will certainly haul your weight, but as far as height, go sit on one and try go get a ride on one before you make a final decision.
Personally, I would never ride 2-up except in an emergency.

Not trying to start a war, but you being 240lbs, and your wife (110lbs) would be better on a 2up quad. That being said, an Arctic Cat, Polaris, or Can-Am would be smart choices to look at. They are all good quads. The Polaris and Arctic Cat would be the best for plowing snow, as they are the heaviest of the three.

I agree the Rancher 420 would be a very good choice, and don't worry about riding 2 up, a buddy of mine has a Rancher 400at he and his wife ride two up without problems, and I took his 400 up a very steep hill with my 230lbs and another fat boy about 220 on it and it did very well considering all of that aars. But like Reconranger said I would make sure you will be comfortable on it especially if you plan to ride for an extended amount of time. Good luck and let us know what you get.
