Default atv registration in Tennessee?

I got a Polaris 700 a couple weeks ago. I live in Tennessee. Do I have to register it in Tennessee. And if I do register it, do you know if they are going to hit me with taxes like they do when you register a car?
Thanks

You'll need to register if you want to ride on most of the public lands - and there is a LOT of public land to ride on. You will get hit with taxes although if you bought used there is no follow-up as to how much you want to declare that you paid. Registration gets you a TDS sticker - costs a whopping $8 and is good for the life of the ATV. TDS sticker is what you need to ride on state owned land. Some state areas (like Royal Blue) also require other fees in addition the TDS sticker.
