which quad for me
#1
im thinking z400, though it is a bit more then what i wanted to spend for my FIRST quad but i dont see anyother good all around options
i need a quad that can handle well on the trails, handle the yearly trip too the dunes (i hear u pretty much need radiator cooled), can do some jumping and is overall a quick quad and welcomes mods
like i said wanted cheaper but i dont think i can get what i want in a cheaper priced quad...then agian i know absoultly nothing about the sport
welcomes any and all feedback!

The Z is a good all-around machine. Fine for a beginner adult, yet an experienced rider won't get bored on it. If you are riding mostly very tight semi-technical trails, I would pick the 400EX instead.

i was gonna get the 400ex but im conserned it will bog down in the dunes, though the dunes trip is only once a year.....my thinking was my as well have a quad working perfectly during that time
illogical thinking?

I am an "X" dealer of the Roketa brand ATV, Dirt Bikes & Go-Carts. I can only tell you what has happened to my company: Warranty parts are very sparse if ever available, New parts for repair takes 2 months, protected dealer area is not honored, the California corp. will sell to anyone even if they are 2 doors from you. Customers deserve good service after purchase, this does not happen; in other words the dealer has angered people within his home town and he can not do anything about it. By another brand that is willing to stand by their merchandise.

If the "trails" you ride are more open, you will like the Z just fine. But if they are really tight, the EX has the ideal powerband for that situation.
What dunes do you go to for your "yearly" trip???? If it is some place like Oregon dunes, you are better off on an agile trail quad. If it's some place that's wide open like Glamis, a machine that revs is a nicer choice.
I wouldn't handicap my trail riding 99% of the year, just so I had a nice dune ride for a few days once a year! Let your trail conditions pick the machine......

well i've never really quaded on trails around here, like alot of stuff the guys goto is like flying down the feilds, and rolling hills
i live in mid-northern alberta
so lots prairres and rolling hills
but there is quite a few like tight wooded areas that quads go into also
so its a toss up?

Go for the Z. It will do everything you are asking of it and beg for more. You may not be the fastest guy in the group, probably not the slowest either. At the end of the day it is going to be hard to say anything bad about the Zuki. Another alternative may be a Predator if you like Polaris.
