Default breeze 125

I am going to look at a 2000 Yamaha Breeze 125, first ATV for our family. It is for the kids to learn on. Is there anything I should look for? Is this a good atv? Asking price is $1,500 what should I pay? Thanks

It's a good little quad, still being sold only now it's the Griz 125. $1,500 sounds a little high, I'd expect more like $1,100 or $1,200 unless it's in like-new shape. It's still 7 years old no matter what.

I considered the Breeze years ago as an "intermediate" machine for my kids. In the end, I went with the Suzuki LT160 instead.

Things I didn't like about the Breeze: Kind of heavy, automatic with only a limited amount of engine braking, and not much in the way of suspension.

My kids started out on the Honda TRX90, which is a larger machine and served them well until they were about 10 years old. Then I moved my daughter to the LT160, but she outgrew that really fast and went on to the 250EX pretty quickly. With my son, I just skiped the LT, and took him to the 250. So, I say if the kids are on the bigger/older side, I would say jump right into a 250EX, or the new Yamaha 250 that is about to be released.

I would think somewhere in the 1200 price range would be about right, depending on what kind of shape it is in. How old are the kids? My 10 year old rides his and he stepped up from a 50. For him, it is just right. They are pretty good little quads, pretty bullet proof for the most part. They seem to have enough suspension for as fast as they should be ridden, push it to much and you will tax the suspension.

My son is almost 11 and daughter is 7. It is more for him, but I am sure she won't be far behind. I have been trying to decide between 125 and going up to something bigger. The main use is just riding around the yard, nothing to demanding.

For their ages and that type of riding, the Breeze sounds like a good fit to me. I plan on getting several more years out of our Breeze for my 10 year old before I move him up and we ride jeep roads and sand dunes and it does ok.
