Where did you finance your ATV through?

Where is the best place to finance an ATV through? I am looking at getting a new atv and the best rate I can find right now is 9.99%. I'm looking at getting a 2008 Polaris Sportsman 800 in case that makes a difference with the financing.

if your credit is ok u should be able to go through the dealer for financing. May want to try your bank if you have a good relationship with them, I really dont think u will get much better rate though, I got mine from yamaha, it was 7.9% for like 18 months then it went to 23% on unpaid balance most dealers will have about the same offer. good luck

If you do go through a dealer, be sure to read the fine print. Like Natal stated, the low interest rate is for a certain time period and not the length of the loan. One of my brother in laws bought a Polaris and used their card. For a machine that stickered at 5199, and he should have been able to find it for less, he's going to wind up paying about 6400.
Talk to a bank or a credit union.

On this type of small loan 7% to 9% would be typical if you have good credit. Check with your local credit unions to see what they offer members. It's worth opening an account at a credit union if they offer the lowest rate.

Here is my thought, don't finance a new machine. Interest really ads up and what you are getting is a depreciating asset. So when it is paid off it will be worth even less. Buy used with what you can pay cash for, then make payments to yourself in a checking account and when it is big enough you can pay cash for the new ATV. Just my thought
