I am interested in getting a quad. I have no experience with riding a quad but i have been snowmobiling for about 3 years now. I am getting sick and tired of waiting... and waiting for it to freakin snow here in eastern Pa.
What quad should i get/ you prefer?
i am 6'3" and 230 lbs
i do not plan on doing anything work related just basic trail riding.
i am not even sure if i am going to buy new or used.
I mainly want a sport "style" whatever you call it.... no utility
oh ya what kind of payment am i going to expect? im not 18 yet so i probably wont be getting it until mid july
Thanks Z_man

The 400's (Suzuki and Honda) are good starter quads, but you need to go sit on them and decide if you feel cramped up or not. http://forums.atvconnection.co...tid/17/threadid/533768
Maybe the Yamaha Raptor 700 if you are feeling like you need more power or a slightly bigger machine.

Well to be honest, I am in the same boat you are in, new rider, first quad...etc. I have done alot of research. I am also not a large guy so the feel of the bike was really important to me. I looked heavily at the KFX700, KFX450R, Suzuki 400, and suzuki 450. I looked at all of them but narrowed it down to these 4 as a personal aesthetic preference(just didn't like the looks of the polaris, yamahas, can-am or hondas).
Anyway, the KFX700 was just too big for me (mightbe ok for you, but it is automatic, lots of auto tranny haters out there, but I heard a lot of good things about it). The Suzuki R450 actually had a friend who rides alot tell me that it just looked too big, like I was sitting too far back on it. But that the Suzuki 400 seemed like a good fit. It sits a tad taller and a bit narrower than the 450.
And thats when we get to my personl choice that I am going to buy, the Kawasaki 450R. Its built similarly to the Suzuki 400 but with a tremendously solid 450 engine, plus, its one only a few 450's that has a reverse.
Hope this helps.

If your used to snowmobiles you will want the most powerful sport quad they made if you want to keep your buzz . The fastest quad made is like intermittent sled in terms of performance.
