Not true! If I get killed on a quad, how will your life change? What? They gonna make you wear a helmet? LOL, don't you already? They're not going to outlaw quads,,, they bring in too much money. Just like they can't outlaw cars or motorcycles. The root problem is people trying to imposse their will on others in the name of safety. </end quote></div>

How about insurance? How about the hospital costs that aren't paid being passed on to me? I may be having surgery in the next month that has nothing to do with riding. But you can bet the cost of many unpaid bills will be factored into my payments.

But I guess it's ok to impose that cost to me, because it wasn't done in the name of safety.</end quote></div>

That's exactly the argument that was used in California to pass both the seatbelt law and helmet laws in this state and I would venture to guess other states. When someone can not pay for the injuries they received, the buck gets passed to the taxpayer. And if they are a quadriplegic, now we pay for their care for the rest of their lives.</end quote></div>

I wonder what they do in New Hampshire? No helmet laws, no seatbelt laws, no car ins laws,,, How do they get along so well over there? Makes ya wonder....

Default NEWBIE question about buying new ATV

Like I said, I'm not a health care reform expert, but it seems to me this country is sue happy. People will sue over anything and are all to excited to think about the cash they could get from a malpractice suit. So, the dr's pay extremely high premiums and they have to gather together in offices with 10+ colleages to get by. Therefore, health care costs are high. Not to mention, a dr wants to make lots of money too, so they can get the new $150,000 ride to impress all the nurses. Now, add to that all the poor people and illegals that go to the hospital,,, for whom the hospital has to eat the cost... You have a recipie for extremely high ins premiums for health care. This has very little to do with wearing helmets on quads.

Not only this, but everbody is too anxious to go to the dr over goofy nonsense stuff like a cold or a sniffle. What is the dr supposed to do??? We have drug companies pedeling drugs on tv 24/7... and in 3 yrs those same drug will be recalled and class action suits will follow. Yeah, so go ask your dr about crazylawsnnol. Its a wonder drug. Or how about do-gooderol. Side effects include swelling of the head and shrinkage of the *********.

Are you calling me "names" like little kids do to each other??? Just want to be sure before I comment. Not sure what this has to do with anything we've talked about so far.... Maybe you're just joking around... Not sure...

Retort to what??? He hasn't said anything!

Btw, nice pic of you doing a wheelie with your 6 yr old nephew on the back of that quad. I'm sure that pic is a "poster of safety" and doesn't feed any ammo to whomever it is that thinks they can outlaw quads.. LOL. But hey, at least you have helmets on.... eh? You know,,, I don't think anyone can argue a helmet law issue with me as long as they have pictures on their bio of people on quads NOT wearing a helmet! WTF? Furthermore, I don't think anyone has any credibility to preach about "quad safety" when 90% of the pics on their bio are of them doing wheelies, burnouts, flipping over backwards, and performing dangerous stunts with children.... Regardless of riding gear. Just can't listen to hypocritical double talk. But I'm not pointing any fingers.

How's that for a retort?

Thanks . Of course to someone who doesn't notice details , and wasn't there to ACTUALLY see what took place , it may appear as unsafe . Might i point out that the quad is in no danger of flipping over for several reasons , 1: The rear bumper is installed to prevent that very thing in which you first judged , it cannot tip over ! 2: A quick tap of the throttle and the clutch setup i had in there would allow the front end to come up at will , and by applying the rear brake at the right moment , causes the machine to balance , and simple adjustments with gas and brake facilitate this manouever in a perfectly safe manner at less than walking pace . 3: I am a skilled rider who has been riding since i was 6 myself , and feel confident in my abilities to the point that i would feel ABSOLUTELY NO DANGER in placing him in that situation .

Why do you think i am arguing a helmet law with you , i never said anything to that effect ?

Preaching about quad safety ?! Seriously dude , are you arguing with your shadow ? Put down the crack pipe . As far as credibility goes , maybe you should pay a little more attention to the facts presented to you before you go picking a fight with someone who placed a random comment on a thread . If you're looking for someone to argue with just for the sake of having nothing else to do , look somewhere else .

Then what did you mean by, "Go ahead and comment , I'd like to hear what you have to say in retort . " ??? I must have took it wrong,,, my apologies.... sorry. I guess I was swinging at anyone who stepped in the circle, lol.

But that wasn't just directed at you. Anybody who wants to argue in favor of a helmet law, better have pics that show helmets on anyone sitting on a quad or at least helmets in their laps or the hypocritical flag starts waving. Same thing with the riding double business. And anyone who points out "we need to set a good example" should also take their own medicine.

Again, sorry I took your comment wrong.
