Hello its my first time here on any forum and im buying my first bike ever and i nerrowed it down to 2 manafaturars Honda 680 Rincon or 500 forman and arctic cat thundercat (1000) or 700 all EFI's price is no object now im going to be using it for trail riding/Mudding/Hunting/Snow plowing and driving/ almost everything. so i want a bike that is strong and worth the money. everyone i know has a honda and i know they ast a LONG time but does arctic cat? i like arctic cat cuz of the locking diff and the Speed Rack and the stock 2" hitch resiver and the size of it but does the locking diff really work as good as they say? and if i get in a big mudd hole will i be aboul to put the honda in 4WD and get out without the locking diff is that why honda dident make one yet ? another thing is there maybe a way you can make the front a locking diff? like you know on trucks you can just weild the gear can you do that with honda? also i would like to put a plow on the bike and biger tires then the 12" not too big just biger and maybe tracks for winter what one would be better at plowing? i would like a fast one but speed doesent really matter cuz like i said everyone i know has a honda so i will be aboul to keep up nomatter what. i guess what im saying is i dont want to have to get someone to have to pull me out of the bush all the time and the bike be in the shop more then i get to ride it. Oh and i forgot i will also be pulling trees and maybe a bout or trailer so i need pulling power. handiling not a bike deal im a strong guy and im just looking for proformance. another thing im a big guy i think im like 300LBS so i need a good bike. the main thing is i want to be aboul to beat the hell out of the bike and not have to bring it to the shop if arctic cat lasts as long as honda i might go with it all depends on what you guys say Thank You Eric

All of the major brands are turning out very reliable bikes these days. With as many variables in your requirements your best next step should be to visit some dealers and see what's out there.
One thing to consider when you're asking for all that power - In reading several tests on the top of the line big bores, it's mentioned that these quads are not good for the first time rider. They refer to bikes like the Thundercat by AC or the Can-Am 800's. Not to say that you couldn't handle them but as a cautionary note that they could easily get the best of you.

Thats a big range the slowest ute to the fastest ute!
Honda is at the bottem of my list.
1st would be :
Polaris big heavy duty with soft ride
Can Am fastest with good ride, great high speed handling
Artic Cat big and tall, lots ground clearance
You being a big guy I'd check out the Can Am Max
Artic Cat TRV or Polaris X2 or Touring.
The extra length gives you lots of room to move around!
Honda would be to small, sorta like the circus clown on the tricycle!

You don't want to weld the front diff. You want to be able to steer dont you?
The AC is the best choice of those 2!

Well if you're talking about getting out of a mud hole, then dont get the Rincon. I can't think of a worse big bore sport ute for mudding. Rincon's have no low range, and they are geared way too high to be able to turn big mud tires. And if you spend much time in mud, the first thing you're going to want to do is lose the pathetic stock tires in favor of bigger more aggressive mud tires. As soon as you do that, you'll neuter the Rincon with its too tall gearing.
Get the Arctic Cat 1000. That way you'll have the biggest baddest sport ute on the planet. If you get stuck in a hole with the Thunder Cat you wont have anything to blame but yourself, because if it can't make it, no other ATV could have made it either. Have fun out there.
