Need help picking a ATV

well getting out of a mudhole are 2 basic things having enough ground clearnce. by aftermarket tires. make sure u get atleast 26 but taller 27 or 28's be better and mud tires. power is'nt always the case. u could have double the power with okay ground clearance and stock tires and get stuck.

I forgot to mention that the Rincon is only 3 wheel drive. If you're concerned about getting out of a mud hole the Rincon is the worst big bore ATV for you that there is. Seriously, anything else is going to be better than a Rincon. I would recommend a Sportsman, Brute Force, Outlander, King Quad, Grizzly, and Arctic Cat, all before the Rincon. The Rincon was made for people that want a smooth ride, good handling, and just cruise along on an easy trail all day long.
Get that Rincon idea out of your head. You don't want one.

Yea... a friend I ride with up in VT has a Rincon.... I have pulled him out more often than not with my Grizzly 450... I should put a stuck Honda sticker with a slash through it like the WWII Aces used to do .. hahahahaha..
The locking front diff feature of the Yamaha's (Suzuki, Kawi (Lever)) is the best deal going.... Best because you KNOW 100% that the front Diff is locked and you have TRUE 4x4! Better than Popo AWD (too much electronics) and I am not 100% sure how AC's 4x4 setup works.

What I do not like about diff lock (only tried the 660 Grizzly) is you have to stop hit the diff lock button get through the difficult section than stop again to put it back in 3wd or 2wd then move on again. The AWD system on Polaris you just hit AWD "on the move", get through that difficult section and keep going and turn it off on the move as well. It knows when it needs true 4wd on its own.

Thats cool.. but I am old school.. same reason I don't like Automatic hubs on a 4x4 Truck.. I don't mind stopping to put it back in 3wd... you can do 3wd to 4wd I rode a Popo SP400 around the FOB in Iraq - the AWD was cool and it was a decent machine until I busted the clutch buttons Thankfully Bike-Bandit shipped to APO's My preference is the Yami setup

I did not give the Grizzly alot of throttle while in Diff lock, but does it have a speed limiter of some type while in Diff lock?
I can imagine they would want some newbie trying to do 65 mph while in Diff lock!LOL

well thank you guys but i have looked at all the other bikes and the only ones i like are the A.C and the HONDA's i liked the Can Ams too but im haveing a hard enoght time picking out of these 2 lol and like i said speed doesent matter i just need power and i want to be aboul to get myself out of a mud hole without brakeing anything and haveing to get pulled out all the time i know there isent a bike outthere that can get its self out of a mud hole everytime but most of the time. and agian does anyone know if you can weild the front diff on the hondas to make a "locking diff" and does honda have a full locked diff on the back ?</end quote></div>
If the locking Diff is really important to you then you should go with the artic cat. The Thundercat is the largest bike on the market right now. also one of the most expensive. however you said price was no object. You also said you want a bike that can take your 300lb frame. It has a beefy suspension, probably more suited to carrining a heavy passenger than the Honda. The AC is a reliable bike. All makes of bikes have their minor issues, but all and all the AC is reliable. Sounds too me like from the 2 you have selected that you like this is your best choice.
be aware though. if this is your first quad. it is going to be powerfull. this is not your Fathers ATV. this bike will get up and go. and as mentioned before. a big engine might get the better of you if you are not cautious. just be careful with it is all.
