I am a Honda guy, and I will tell you that the Warrior is a very safe investment and proven to be bullit proof. My brother and cousin both have Warriors, one is a 98 and the other a 99. They are very good reliable quads! My uncle was riding my cousins 99 and we dared him to got through a mud pit about 70 feet long, needless to say he got stuck at about the 50 ft mark, in mud and water up to the tank! The only thing we could see of the bike was the gas cap and handle bars, he had to get off to hook up a pull rope to get pulled out, so what did he do? HE SHUT IT OFF! We all said "You Idiot", but he tied the rope, and it fired right up! That sold me!
Also, don't count out the 300ex, and if you can spare the extra $ and do without reverse, I would deffinately get a 400ex.

I have an '87 Warrior (I bought it new), and I still ride it (see where I'm going with this). I'm not a racer, just an all around rider. The only mod I did to it was 5 years ago and it was to add the 435 bore and stroke kit. If you are looking for the sport utility of quads, this is the one to get. (I think a little more sport than utility).

I think the warrior is a great machine. Its a overall very strong wheeler. I believe it is one of the better sport machines out there for trail ridding and for just playing around on. I think its worthy of two thumbs up.

I think the warrior is an excellent "fun to ride" atv. I do mostly woods riding, and the warrior does great in the woods. Gets me where I want to go and is fast enough to be thrilling. It would depend on the type of riding you want to do. A warrior is fairly quick, but easy to ride. My Dad has a Polaris 4X4 and an Artic Cat 4X4 and they are a lot slower, don't handle as well for quick riding. But if you deal with Mud they are great, especially with a winch. Overall usefullness I would go for a 4X4, but for the thrill of riding, I would go with the Warrior.
