01 Kaw Mojave or 08 VBike 250V4s
hey everyone. im new here and im the market for my first 4 wheeler. i have narrowed it down to 2 choices. i could go brand new with the VBike 250 V4s or there is a 2001 Kawasaki Mojave 300. its it good shape and been maintained well. the only question i have is that i havnet been able to find a 300 mojave anywhere online to read about. everything says it should be a 250 or a Lakota. anyone have any idea if there was a 300 mojave made for 2001?. any opinions would be greatly apprectiated. i like the look of the vbike and the fact that its brand new, but at the same time i want something that i can eventually mod up and i know has a well known engine. the fact that the vbike is china made with some kind or cloned engine worries me. along with the power factor. any suggestions or comments?...thanks

Buying Japanese or Chinese depends on your abilities and pocket book. The big four Japanese ATVs are of great quality, but also cost more. If somthing goes wrong with them you can take it to a local dealer to be repaired. On the other hand, with the Chinese AtVs, they cost substantialy less, but any repairs needed are done by you. Needless to say you need mechanical skills.
The V4S is one of the better made Chinese ATVs. The ATV runs great, I would buy another one. There are plenty of Vbike posts on this forum to answer most of your questions about them. Vbike has been very supportive of there products.
Accesories for the Chinese bikes are not plentiful.
Do lots of reading of all the posts here and make an educated decision. Good luck with whatever you decide on.

Two of my buddies had Mojave's. They were ok for back when (overhead cam and water cooled as I recall), but not by today's standards. I always felt like they were on the heavy side, and the frame seemed kind of stubby to me.
One of them constantly had problems with not getting enough oil to one of the cams, and it seemed to be more of a design flaw rather than something not working properly. He went through several timing chains as well.
The other one had a bad rear shock, and with the quad out of production he couldn't find a new one. He found one on e-bay, and it blew first ride. Can't remember what finally happened in the end. I think he would have had to go aftermarket, and that would be more than the machine was worth.
And for Gods sake, stay away from any off-brand machines!!!
