I dont know what to buy for my 15 year old son. HE wants to get a bigger quad becuse he has an Outlaw 90. He likes to go fast, jump and go trail riding. I told him that I would get like a 250 but he said he might grow out of it. So can you guys give me some suggestions?

 

Z 400 and 400 EX would both be good choices.

15 is kind of an in between place that is hard to deal with. For sure I would say he should be off the 90, unless he is just a really really small kid!

You could step him up to a 250, but he might outgrow it very quickly?

Or, you could go right to a 400 and that will be something he can ride for the rest of his life.

Another issue is are we talking sport quad or utility here???? If sport, the Raptor 250 seems to be a great performer, but the Honda is an excellent machine as well and I as an adult can ride it comfortably.

Among the utilities, the Honda Recon 250 is a real peach, and something that most average size adults could be comfortable on as well.

So, you need to decide what he is ready for, based on his size and experience. Try to get him a ride on some bigger machines so he can judge if he is going to be in over is head or not.....

 

Assumeing you are talking about a sport quad I would second the 400EX or Z400!

Well I'd have to say that is your call on how MATURE the 15 yr old is...and how big of a kid is he...
I have a 8 yr old that rides my 500 as I ride the 350 Trail boss with him as the TrailBoss is a 2 cycle and the 500 in low range don't have the take off like the TrailBoss or if it was in High Range.
He handles it BETTER than mom does...God I hope she don't read this...

 

im 16 and fairly small (5'8, 150) and i got a 450R that i can handle fine, but iv been riden since i was 6. I think that if he needs a step up from the 90 good choices would be: raptor 350, Honda 300 or 400ex, zuki z400
