ATV for the Florida MUD

"SuziOzark, I have been looking at the swamplites. they look good and seem to get good reviews. Do the side walls hold up well? Do they resist puncture well? I have heard some brands of tires blow out pretty easy! Also what size after market tire will fit the Kawi without needing a lift kit? And what is a good size mudding tire?"
The Swamp Lites are actually very punture resistant. I have a big nail on my trail sticking straight up out of my trail in my woods (not the pointy part, the other end. The nail is about 1/2 inch thick). I have ran over it at slow speeds and high speeds, my tires are still lookin' good as new. The side walls hold up great. They are tough and do not flex much around corners. I've driven my sidewalls on rocky edges and they still have not popped or scarred.
As for a good size mud tire, it depends on how deep the mud is. Without a lift, you'll probably get a 26-27 inch tire on there. I would personally go with 26" to keep the power loss to a minimum. The other thing is, you have to try to wheelie in the deep mud to keep traction on the rear tires and get your front end out of the water/mud...plus, it is A LOT of fun doing wheelies through mud!!!
One more thing, depending on how thick and sticky the mud is there, the Swamp Lites may not be your best choice. You may happen to like a different tire better. My swamp here in Connecticut is wet clay so it cakes up the tires in just a few spins(but only when it's really bad conditions. Other than that, I just drive right through), but a little hit of the throttle clears them right out. I have not once gotten stuck with these tires aside from a rut that was roughly 3.5 feet deep left there from my friend...what a pain that was...make sure you have a winch, because I do not.

Thanks for all the help!
So I have narrowed it down, I'm going to go with a 750 efi 4X4 Brute force and put 26" swamp lites!
Next questions are:
Should I put the same size tire on front and back or smaller on front and wider on back?
What size will fit the stock wheels, I'm not looking to put a bunch of money into new wheels.
Snorkel kit, looks easy enough to do myself! should I order a kit or just build my self? I have found very detailed instructions on the web on doing it myself and would be much cheaper than buying a kit. Any advantage to buying a kit?
Thanks again,

Sorry it took so long to reply, I hope you are still following this forum. You should put 11 inch wide tires on the rear and 8-9 inch wide on the front.
Snorkel Kit-waist of money. Do it yourself, it's cheaper and has the same function.

Thanks, SuziOzark. I saw someone else with a Halloween avatar so I searched the net for "scary jack o'lantern" images and resized it to fit. Now all I need is a fake Jack O'Lantern big enough to stick my plasma ball in to stick in my window.
In the pictures section of the forum somebody got stuck in Florida mud and it looks like there's no bottom to it. The ideal quad for that might be a Blaster frame with a ThunderCat engine and dual wheels.

LOL! Yeah, that's all you need!
Florida mud-no bottom/ my swamp-literally no bottom. Wow, I think I know how that guy who got stuck feels! I hate getting stuck in a bottomless pit, because when I step of the ATV to push, I sink down to my thighs!! That's pretty funny. Well, that will be my next project. A blaster with a thundercat engine and dual wheels!!

LOL. Yeah, it's all about power to weight ratio. I've seen dual-wheel kits too and they might have enough flotation to keep you from sinking to the bottom. There's always a bottom where I ride. The trick is getting the tires on it before the frame hits.
