sounds like the price is a little high for the millage. stock with a winch i would not feel comfortable paying more than $5000 IMO. its an almost 3 year old mechine, plus its a buyers market right now.
the 660's whare good i cant think of any really common problems with them. For that kind of millage i would want to jack it up and check the bearings. jack the tires off the ground and try and move them up-down checking for any slop. plus test ride it in all the gears.
yamaha stoped makeing the 660's in i believe 06. 07+ is the 700 grizzly, which is really 682cc's, bumped it up 20-22cc's so they could call it a 700. They really ride like the same mechine IMO.
good luck, and remember dont feel obligated to buy because you looked at it. buy it because its a good mechine

that price sounds pretty high. do you have any atv experience or will this be your first? if its your first, i would look at something in the 400cc range then upgrade as you get more experience.

I recently bought a 2005 Grizzly 660 with new winch and 99 hrs/750 miles for $4500. The Yamaha website actually shows that they made the 660 into 2008. When I was looking for one, there were several listed for $5000 to $5500 (OBO) with few hours and miles.
I would keep looking for a better deal. Check out craigslist.com
