first atv for my daughter

And don't forget to get her into a course from someone like Dragginbutt! My daughter did, and she's definitely a much better rider for it.
I would also STRONGLY recommend you get the parents' manual from the ATV safety Institute. (ATVsafety.org)
Best of luck!

boy, times have changed. back when i was young (7 years old in '89), the first 4 wheeler i had to drive was the only one we had: my dad's 1984 honda trx 200. this thing wasnt 'safe' at all, looking back on it now. the foot shifter upshifts when you push down on it, so if your left foot slipped, you would go FASTER. no floor guards, so if you foot slips, your heel could rub on the rear tire (fender didnt go down that far on that model). but my learning curve was fast. i learned that if i pushed that thumb throttle too much, i'd fall backwards. have yall considered getting a 125 or 200 / 250 so even when they grow up, they can still ride it, and you dont have to worry about them out-growing it?
don't get me wrong, i dont want to promote something unsafe. maybe its just a wisconsin thing...
