I'm looking at buying a used ATV, but can't find anyplace online with info on models and specs for older quads. I'd like to know things like suspension travel, drive type, if the 4wd is selectable, etc. All of the used ATV reviews and info I find only cover models built in the past few years, mainly since 2000. My budget will probably only allow for an ATV built in the mid to late 90s. Any thoughts on where to get some info?

Technology was kind of stagnant through the 90's, because of the "consent decree". Manufacturers agreed with the government not to release any new models during this time, because of safety issues. The decree expired in the late 90's, and after that things took off again. So...I would look for models that came out after that, and not at the really old timey stuff.....

Find a prospective quad, then go to the individual forums and there should be someone there that can tell you about older models.
