As far as reliability, i would put those two at about the same. For the same price I would go with the YFZ450R, unless you ride a lot of tight trails where the 50" width will be a disadvantage. Otherwise, the Yammie has a more advanced suspension, handling will be better with the extra width, and you are getting efi. The Honda is a great starting point, but it is basically still a first gen 450. If you are looking at new machines, it should be cheaper.

They both have a high strung 450 motocross motor so they will be fast, there no such thing as a reliable Motocross, they have to be rebuilt sooner then later after so many hours,it just how it is. I know guys that race and do a topend rebuild after 25hrs.

You want fast and reliably, get a 700 Raptor.

trx all the way. they both are kinda ugly to my liking but ive found that honda is way more reliable. they're pretty much bullet proof.

of course you'd pick the yfz..duh. i had a 05 yfz (i know not the same as the newer R) and an 04 450r. the yfz had slightly higher performance in every category just about... but you know what? i miss the honda more! it was more comfortable, had better "trail" power, i liked that it was kickstart etc. it was a better trail quad in short. maybe instead of a yfz-R you should look at a yfz-X

Of course you would NOT pick the YFZ just for the sake that you you like to argue! If I wanted a trail 450 I would go for the KFX for its reverse that it has!

no, you have it all wrong. making a point that you are favorable to yamahas would be grounds for argument, i didnt "not pick it" to start an argument, what i said i meant.

You call it loyalty, and I call it choosing the best quad for the question at hand! If he would have asked for the best trail machine between these two quad I would have went with the Honda as well!
