Default A Honda TRX250EX cuts off when idle for about 15 seconds

I'm fairly new to atvs in general. I was looking at a used 2008 Honda 250EX and I test drove it. Its drove fine with out any problems, but it cut off when it was idle for about 15 seconds. Is it supposed to do that or is something wrong with it?Also he's asking $2500 for it. Is that a good price?

Prices vary for location but, that is steep for a 250 around here. Those 250EX's are pretty solid. I picked up, I think it was an 04, for 1000. Runs solid as a rock. Most older ones treated properly should be fine. That's really steep considering, no, it shouldn't die when idling.

The pilot jet may need cleaned or the carb may need adjusted. Probably no biggy either way but I'd buy new before I gave $2500 for a beginner quad that needed some wrenching.
