Earlier my dad posted in yamaha about me getting my first quad i am looking for MYfirst quad im fourteen five foot eight and on hundred seventy pounds i like the raptor style and i also like the exs from honda i know how to run a clutch and all so i just need some advice

 

What kind of riding will you be doing?

Raptors are nose heavy, the 300ex is a nice little quad, the 400 is a step up, a whole lot bigger (longer). The 1st thing i noticed was i have to stoop forward or stand up to have good control of the 400ex, the bend in the seat is something i personallly don't like. If this is your 1st quad it'd be worth looking at the 250ex, or possibally blaster... The blaster may be a bit cramped for you, but there are a lot of cheap mods you can do for a bigger feeling... (slide the rear plastics back, shave them, widen it out......)

But you can't go wrong with a honda.... I'm thinking a well maintained 300ex.....

 

Mostly trails and maybe a couple jumps and once i really get a good feel for it if its a four stroke i might do wheelies
