Recently found a 2008 Polaris 800 HO completely stock with 96 miles. Pictures looked great and I will of course test ride. $4,500 is the bottom dollar on this machine. Is that a good deal?

Here's what NADA says. 2008 Polaris Sportsman 800 (Electronic Fuel Injection) Prices and Values - NADAguides That's just below what they say is average retail but under 100 miles should put it in excellent condition. Considering a brand new Sportsman 850 would easily cost twice that much, doesn't sound like a bad deal assuming it performs as good as it looks.

With that kind of mileage it's probably only been ridden a few times. If it's as good as the pictures look go for it.

Still 700 miles is many times what a one year old machine will have on it. Many have a lot more than that.

When we used to get out every other week or so we often did 1,000 miles in a year.

Same here but now I only ride with my friends in the summer. That quad only has 100 miles per year which is low even by my new standard. That's like 2 rides a year. It may have been used mostly for work like plowing and not trail ridden.
