Looking at buying a new 2016 Honda Rancher 4x4 manual shift. Looked at them at the local dealer and they had them $5800 plus tax.I know they Msrp is $6199 and $250 bonus bucks off.Is $5800 plus tax a good deal? Is it worth buying the extended warranty?

I don't know Honda prices at all. My experience with extended warranties on anything is that if you get it you won't need it but if you don't get it you will need it.

A lot depends on your area, friend at work just bought the same machine but here in NW Ohio he was able to get it for 5600 out the door. That said he was working between 3 different dealers negotiating prices and he was able to pay cash so I am sure that was a big part of the difference. He also bought his before Christmas when sales were slow. With heading into spring prices are going to be higher due to season. I would hit up a number of dealers and see what you can do. I drove 1 1/2 hrs to get the better deal on my UTV. Saved 500 so it was worth the drive and I was able to try one out on their test track before buying which many dealers will not allow. No test ride- no buy!!

I don't think the 2016 is any different than the 2015 or even 2014, might want to see if they have any leftover new models. You can usually get the best deals on older new stock. Here's a brand new 2014 Camo Rancher 4x4 for $5399 at a local dealer near me 2014 Honda® FourTrax® Rancher® 4x4 Honda Phantom Camo® Stock: 17E4000470 | S.I. Motorsports
I've seen them price older stock new Foreman 4x4's for a similar price but don't see any in their inventory. I think all of those got sold.
