Default Width of atv.... I need help!!!!

Hey guys,

So I am looking to buy 2 quads. I am looking at using them for hunting and trail riding. One will be stored in my camping trailer the other in my bed of my truck. The problem is my travel trailer has a side toy gate that is 50" wide (07 keystone outback 23krs). I was wandering what you guys recommend that is under 50" wide and can get me around (I'm a big guy about 280).

Any suggestions would be great!!!!

Pretty much every atv built is 48" wide or less stock. If the quad is wider than that, its because it has aftermarket wheels and tires on it that are wider than stock.

Thank greg... do you know of any smaller types/brands I can look at? 1 inch on each side doesn't give me to much wiggle room

Thats the max, most are around 45-46" wide. The Polaris Sportsman models are 48" wide. I assume you're looking for 2 utility 4x4 quads? How much money do you want to spend? Something like a Yamaha Grizzly 700 2007-2013 model was 46" wide. In 2014 they widened it to 48" and it remains that way. The Kawasaki Brute Force 750 is listed as 46.5 inches wide and would be another good choice. The Can-Am Outlander 570 is listed as 46" wide too.

Yes I am looking for 2 utility quads. I'm trying to stay under 8000 for booth but would be willing to go up to 10k. I looking for a newer nice one for myself and then a second more used one to have for if I have a hunting partner with me. Do you have a top recommendation? Also when looking at used quads what would you consider a good mileage vs. High mileage?

I just got my 09 Brute force 650 with 1335 miles on it for right at about $4000 and that was at a dealer. I'd look at something with 1500 miles or less, that was basically my limit this time. Condition is important. A well maintained machine with more miles would be fine. You could get 2 Yamaha Grizzly 660's for around $8000. Some are less expensive but the lower mileage ones in great shape are around $4000 each like this one 2006 Yamaha Grizzly 660 ATV. If you could find 2 like that, get them. Here would be another one for about the same price 2006 Yamaha Grizzly 660 4×4 Special Edition. TRADE. I think that's probably your best bet to find a good low mileage 4x4 atv that will do what you want. The used Brutes are harder to find in the same price range with low miles. Can-Ams tend to go for even more used. I had a Grizzly 660 recently and it was one of lesser expensive ones. I ended up trading for the Brute Force I have now. The Grizzly was not in as good of shape as I thought when I bought it. I wish I had opted for spending a little more to get one with lower miles in better shape or I would still have it.

My Sportsman 500 is listed as 48" like Greg said. The old ones were 46" but I think that was 2000 and earlier years. I wouldn't want one that old.

Most of them are 48" or less like mentioned above. Smaller engine usually has a better chance of being narrower. Good luck shopping!
