I want to return my quad to the previous owner..
Hello I recently bought a used Honda ATV. The owner stated that the quad ran and drove great and was in good shape. When I got home I literally put on one mile or two and found out that the motor was knocking. Yes I did test drive the machine at the owners place. But when I got home motor knocked. Can I return this machine to her?
under what circumstances can I return this quad? Is there any chance of returning the quad if I go to court?

It's always better to talk to them first. Every state/province is probably a bit different. Be honest and respectful. If she says no, might want to take it to a dealer. I once bought an Arctic Cat very cheap as the owner thought the motor was bad. It wasn't. I drove it for years, just sold it for $2,100 more than I paid many years ago. BTW, when he found out the motor was good, he wanted me to pay him another $1,500, haha.

Good luck but there's probably not much you can do. Going to court will most likely not result in anything but more expenses. I have heard in the past that dishonest car dealers would put sawdust in an engine to quiet it down and get it to stop knocking. It would work well enough to sell the car and then obviously the engine would fail once it was sold. Short of the previous owner doing something outrageous like that(which I'm sure they didn't) there's no way to prove they knowingly did anything wrong.
