I have a 2000 sportsman, which my dad bought for me. I want to get a 2002 yellow rubicon, next month. I am 19 and I want to put 3000 down and finance the rest. But, I have no credit, because I have never financed anything before. Would honda finance me or not, because I would pay in full, but rather finance to build up my credit. Also if they did what kinda rates and terms would they offer me?

Frankly I don't know what Honda's financing is like, but if they don't give it to you, maybe your dad could co-sign the loan. It would be in your name, but he would be responsible if anything went wrong.

Also, I usually think that it is best not to finance when you can pay cash unless the finance rate is dirt cheap. When you do the loan, make sure you can pay it off early with no penalty. Get the loan, pay it off and you're done. No finance charges, the loan is on your credit record as paid on time and paid in full.

Just remember, don't assume anything, get everything in writing all the time and read the fine print.

Good luck.
