I just bought a 400EX and I am 6'1 235 and it fits me great(although I may turn the bars a hair forward). The power is good but not great, but if you are trail riding I don't know where you could really need more power than a 400EX has unless you are really fast rider. Be honest! I also have heard really bad things about the reliability of the raptor....the local Honda dealer told me about the carb blowing off one? Do not tknow if thats true, or he was "selling" me but its something to think about for $6500. Lastly...whats the big stink about reverse or no reverse....by the time you engage the funky reverse lever...jump off and pull yourself around!!!! Besides, who really wants to go backwards.........

Even for a trail quad you still don't want to be in the back of the pack, so if there alot of open roads and your on a STOCK 400EX and someone else is on a Raptor you are going to get wasted

Actually the reverse procedure for the Raptor is very simple and quick. You'd never get a quad turned around by hand before I could get the Raptor in reverse.

I am 6'0 255, I have no problems riding my 400 at all, heck I had a 300 for about 6 months and i really didn't mind it. The 400 is more comfortable though.

Ltracerx: Not Florence just yet, been to Sand Lake. With a 12t c/s sprocket and paddles, no other mods it'll take a stock Banshee on the hills and drags. It's running very close to a piped Shee. I'd be willing to bet a good pipe and airbox mods would even it up with the piped Shees, but as it is it'll climb out of tree holes just fine and climb any dune you point it at. Really a fun quad.
