Well, when the time comes for me to make my purchase of my 1st Quad, it will probably be between these 3or4 brands. Namely: the Bombardier Quest 650, the Yamaha Grizzly 660, the Honda Rubicon 500, and maybe take a look at the Suzuki Vinson 500. Hopefully if we get alot of Overtime at work this summer, I should be able to buy one by July or August. I have been saving up for one, and I think when the day arrives, it will have been well worth the wait! Patience is a Virtue!

Honda is planning to get the new Rincon 650 released for late summer. Since your waiting and hadn't decided on anything yet, I would ride this one before making a decision.

However, if want the Rubicon 500, it would be nice to wait as well, Our sales rep. told us that when the 650 is released, the Rubicon price will go down a few hundred dollars and the new Rincon650 will be a couple hundred dollars more than the current priced Rubicon 500.

Honda plans to keep both models and with a $500 to $600 price difference between them.

You are looking at different quads with different strengths. They are all great in my opinion with the exception of the Bombardier 650. What type of riding do you plan to do?

From what you picked, here are my suggestions based on my own research into quad buying. Anyone else feel free to chime in here with things I may have missed. You should consider a Kawasaki 650 because its fast and fun, but I am biased for obvious reasons.

Best utility: Honda Rubicon

Sportiest: Grizzly 660 (wait for 2003), Kawi 650, Vinson 500

Fastest: Kawi 650 with Grizz a VERY close 2nd.

IRS: Grizzly. But IRS is overrated with the power of the Kawi.

Hunting: Honda Rubicon because its full time 4WD. Remember, its fun to drive around though in 2WD for the sporty feel.

Big Bore: Grizzly 660 or Kawi 650.

500: Rubicon but the Vinson rated Best of Class of 500's. Its sporty and quick too.

Most Reliable: Honda has the reputation but they will all be good if you take care of them.

Low Torque: Kawi 650

Locking Diff. Kawi 650 or Grizz 660

Just my observations. I chose the 650 for acceration, best in class brakes and hill climbing and descending. I thought I wanted IRS but I have not been stuck yet. Its light and skids easily over rocks anyways.
I have been very happy with it.

In picking from your listings I would definetly exclude the Quest 650 as its utility-based. I believe the Rubicon is a better value. I would chose the Grizzly 660 as the best all-around ATV from your list.

I will probably be using the quad for snowplowing, pulling a spring-tooth plow, and pulling a leveling drag for our driveway, and private roadway. I have already driven the 660 Grizzly, as my brother owns one. (A Beige one). It was really nice I thought. The only gripe he had about his is that it is pretty cold-blooded. Other than that, he really likes it. I, as well as my brothers have had good luck with Bombardier products, so I just will have to do my homework on what suits me the best.
